Description
Test planispiral in early stage, later rectilinear, strongly compressed, sutures oblique, wall agglutinated, with very little cement, aperture terminal, eccentric, at dorsal angle of test. [MAYNC (*1240) stated that Ammobaculites compressa CUSHMAN & WATERS (M. Penn., Mich.) "should be referred to Ammomarginulina" and thus would extend the range of the genus to the Pennsylvanian. As A. compressa has neither the eccentric aperture at the dorsal angle nor the oblique sutures which characterize Ammomarginulina, we regard it as a true Ammobaculites.]
