Shell spherical, umbilicate, early volutions of most species asymmetrical to outer ones but symmetrical in some forms; spirotheca composed of tectum with upper and lower tectoria, or, in advanced forms, of tectum and diaphanotheca with upper and lower tectoria; septa unfluteJ; chomata massive, large (*1919, *1928).
